Medhat is a civil engineer who has spent 36+ years designing, expanding, and operating water and wastewater treatment infrastructure across Canada, the United States, the GCC and Egypt. His project record spans municipal plants serving 1.2 million residents, industrial facilities in more than a dozen sectors, and remote community systems built to run reliably with local operators. In Ontario he has practised as a Senior Civil Engineer — Water & Wastewater with established consulting firms before dedicating BioTerraVa to direct, senior-delivered service.
He founded BioTerraVa on a simple conviction: clients paying for senior engineering should receive senior engineering — on every drawing, every site visit, and every regulatory submission. Every BioTerraVa engagement is delivered personally by Medhat under a Certificate of Authorization from Professional Engineers Ontario.
Beyond consulting, Medhat leads BioTerraVa's proprietary technology platform: four provisional patents in circular water and waste technology, currently at TRL 4 bench-scale validation at the University of Western Ontario with OCI and IPON government funding support. His applied innovation record reaches back years — including published technical work on INNPT nano-technology for pollution control at one of the world's largest drainage canals. He also founded NovaSignal AI, a venture applying engineering-grade discipline to practical AI tools for local businesses.
